The Isles are seeing a a 162.2 percent increase in ticket prices on the secondary market. TiqIQ, a company that analyzes secondary-market sales, says that the average ticket price to attend a game at Nassau Coliseum is $145.95. The average ticket price for the Islanders' final game at the Coliseum will cost fans an average of $280 per ticket.
The increase in demand for tickets is a combination of the team's success on ice and this being their final season at the Nassau Coliseum. The team has called the building home since 1972 and will relocate to Brooklyn's Barclays Center next season. Many fans are returning to the Coliseum for one final visit before the move.
The Islanders have sold out nine of their first 18 home games and have had capacity crowds at five of their last six contests at the Coliseum.
There are 23 regular season home games left for the Islanders in the 2014-15 season. The lowest price for the Isles' next home game -- January 16 against the Pittsburgh Penguins -- is $73.00, according TiqIQ.
