Andy Graziano, SNY.TV:
As if life being a fan of or covering the New York Islanders could ever be simple. Some adapt to change expertly, with the fluidity of water flowing out of a faucet. Others simply resist it, choosing instead to be the unmovable object - the rock, if you will, that if left in one spot too long, falls behind, growing moss while everything around it moves forward.
I have found that the simplest path is simply being adaptable. Adaptable to a changing environment, a changing world, family structure, work status or financial status. The more adaptable you are, the less prone you are to the stresses of change itself.
It's only been one game, a 3-0 win over the Dallas Stars, but the Islanders resolve will be tested more this weekend as they play their second and third games under new interim head coach Doug Weight. With the Los Angeles Kings and Philadelphia Flyers invading Barclays Center, another test in a challenging 2016-17 season awaits the team. How adaptable will they truly be?
