Visnovsky returned from an upper body injury on Saturday in Detroit and scored a goal, but was a combined -3 in 39 minutes in his last two games.
Brian Strait will take Visnovsky's place in the lineup.
I know this won't be popular with some fans, but Strait deserves to be rewarded for his play as of late. Yes, he wasn't very good in the season's early going, but Strait was extremely steady in Lubo's most recent absence. He has earned this nod.
Not to mention that Visnovsky was obviously rusty on Tuesday night and it showed. He had few key giveaways that led to scoring opportunities for the Panthers. That's very uncharacteristic of Lubo. The veteran is a calming influence on the blue line and he will be important to the Isles' run, so I wouldn't read much into this. With a back-to-back coming up this weekend, it won't hurt to let Visnovsky get his legs under him with a practice or two, shake off the recent struggles, and be ready to turn in big minutes in Boston and Buffalo.
