Background: Stroud is a Brooklyn native and was a notable receiver and defensive back for the Fort Hamilton Tigers, catching 41 passes for 614 yards (making him the second-highest receiver in the state) as a senior. With Stroud's help, Fort Hamilton went to back-to-back City Championships, and tallying a 25-0 record across his junior and senior years. Stroud was named to the "Brooklyn Big 44" as well as selections to All-City and All-State teams. After a season at Fork Union Military Academy to prep, Stroud enrolled at Rutgers in January of 2008 and was rated a four-star recruit by Rivals and was rated 21st among prep school players and fourth among prep receivers. Bethune-Cookman Head Coach Brian Jenkins was his position coach at Rutgers and after two years at Rutgers, Stroud transferred to Bethune-Cookman, where he played his junior and senior seasons aiding the Wildcats to a 9-3 finish in 2012. Stroud had 26 receptions for 293 yards with his best game as a senior coming on October 20th with four receptions for 60 yards and one score in the team's 48-3 blowout win over Norfolk State. Stroud was said to run a 4.4 40 yard dash at the Rutgers Pro Day this spring.
2013 Projection: Stroud has an NFL ready body, but will need to work on his ability to separate downfield as well as to get a clean release on inside routes. Stroud should also work with Sanjay Lal on using his size to create wider throwing lanes/targets for his quarterback. Even so, with his size and timed speed Stroud is a project player as of now.
