Andrew Perloff writes on SI.com a whole 2013 preview for the Jets and shares an interesting note about the Jets running game and what the Jets need to do about it.
Draft a running back. According to to Pro Football Focus, free-agent Shonn Greene averaged one forced missed tackle every 5.42 carries -- the worst mark in the NFL. And Greene doesn't have the receiving skills for Mornhinweg's system. Idzik was part of a staff that traded for Marshawn Lynch and drafted promising running back Robert Turbin in the fourth round of the '12 draft. He can find a productive back in the mid or late rounds.Targeting a player in the draft would come a lot cheaper in terms of cap room for 2013 than if they go out and get a retread through free agency. It's hard to say where players will settle in just yet, but if the Jets played their cards right they might be able to snag a player like Stepfan Taylor out of Stanford. I've sen Taylor has high as the second round but generally coming in somewhere on the top of the third. While Taylor might garner the most interest, there's other second and third day selections that could be nice pickups for the Jets.
