Is any interest between the Jets and Bradshaw about to change based on Bradshaw's asking price? Per Ohm Youngmisuk on ESPN NY, who reports that Bradshaw is looking for an opportunity to start somewhere in the league.
And although the Jets recently signed Mike Goodson to a three-year, $6.9 million deal, they would have legitimate interest if Bradshaw lowers his asking price, according to a source. Bradshaw says the Jets, Packers and Steelers have shown interest in him.Bradshaw has never been explosive, but he's a competent back with the right vision, good hands out of the backfield, a powerful running style and has improved as a pass-blocker.
Not sure what to think about this report, but I think it would be tradeoff between a veteran minimum deal for a promise to Bradshaw to start. I don't know that Bradshaw would want to play for such a low figure, and I don't know that the Jets are willing to make that type of a promise to a player before bringing them in to compete for the job.
But assuming there might be interest on both sides, adding Bradshaw would address the backfield sufficiently between him, Powell and Goodson. While Bradshaw might be able to start and the group would be better to have him, his health is going to likely be an issue at some point during the season. But based on that, I would imagine that Powell and Goodson could shoulder the load in his absence.
