Update - 11:51 a.m.: Moore's agent says that Moore is in shape and ready to play. Moore texted ESPN New York, saying "I'm in shape + ready to go."

This might be Moore's agent's subtle way of reminding teams that the 33-year old is still out there or it could just signify that he is not prepared to continue his career on a low salary.  Moore, who had been dealing with hip issues over the last few seasons, saw interest from a couple of teams earlier on in the free agent process, but was reportedly after "starter money".  Even so, it's still a surprise that no team was prepared to sign him.  Despite an apparent reputation as a "clubhouse lawyer", Moore was one of the most effective guards in the NFL during the second half of last season, according to Pro Football Focus.

With the free agent period now over, there is no way for the Jets to recoup a compensatory pick for Moore (although they likely will receive the maximum of four anyway).  With this news any thought that they might have been waiting for that date to pass before they re-approached him about returning to the Jets for another year can be forgotten. He probably isn't a good scheme fit anyway.

The last time someone other than Moore started at right guard for the Jets was on November 1st, 2004 when the Jets beat the Dolphins 41-14 on Monday Night Football.  (That was Jonathan Goodwin – who, like Moore, went on to be a one-time Pro Bowler).
