Jets LB Darron Lee was fined a total $45,579 by the NFL Friday following his penalties against the Dolphins.
Lee was fined $36,464 for his roughing the passer penalty on Dolphins QB Jay Cutler as well as $9,115 for a facemask call.
Lee didn't agree with the roughing the passer call, and though it should have been a sack. Head coach Todd Bowles defended his linebacker when asked if he plays too aggressive.
"I think Darron's fine," Bowles told the Associated Press. "He had two (penalties) and he's got to cut back. It's not like he has two every week. A lot of people had a bad day at the office, coaches included. We'll get better."
Lee has racked up $72,925 over four fines this season.
Robby Anderson was also fined on Friday after throwing his helmet on the field in frustration. He was docked $12,154 in his first fine of the season.
