Enunwa, a 6-2, 225-pound wide receiver, set Nebraska’s single-season receiving touchdown record last season, when he reeled in 12.
“He went through individual [drills], and then really couldn’t do the team [practice periods],” Rex Ryan told reporters after practice concluded. “I don’t know the severity of that injury. I don’t think it’s that severe of an injury, but we’ll certainly lean on the trainers and things.”
The Jets selected Enunwa with the No. 209 pick in the NFL Draft. Enunwa ran a 40-yard dash time of 4.45 seconds.
Scouts say that he is big, tough, athletic and a fit with the Jets as a West Coast receiver who seemed to take a step forward as a senior. At his size and speed, Enunwa is a versatile receiver who can line up anywhere in the formation. Some scouts even consider Enunwa as a potential H-Back.
Sitting in the press room, Rex didn't sound too concerned about Enunwa so we'll see how much Enunwa participates tomorrow.
If Enunwa can get healthy he will have a good shot at making some noise in training camp. The Jets have some players his size, but he seems like he might have the most upside of the group.
