Former Buccaneers offensive coordinator Todd Monken, who was a candidate to become head coach of the Jets, will join the Cleveland Browns in his same role, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapaport.
Monken's name was speculated among other potential Jets offensive coordinator candidates after they hired Adam Gase as head coach.
Instead, he will join new head coach Freddie Kitchens and new defensive coordinator Steve Wilks in Cleveland.
Monken, 52, spent three seasons with the Bucs after being the head coach at Southern Mississippi from 2013 to 2015.
New York has yet to name an offensive coordinator. They hired Gase as head coach, will reportedly hire former Browns interim head coach Gregg Williams as defensive coordinator and agreed to a contract extension with special teams coach Brant Boyer.
