Jets RB Matt Forte underwent an MRI Monday and is day-to-day due to the knee injury he suffered during Sunday's 23-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers, head coach Todd Bowles said.
Safety Marcus Gilchrist will miss the rest of the season with a torn patellar tendon, according to Bowles.
Forte was limited to three carries for eight yards before leaving the game early with a knee injury.
He totaled 784 rushing yards and seven touchdowns through 12 games in his first season with the Jets.
Gilchrist, who recorded two interceptions, one forced fumble and 50 combined tackles this season, will undergo surgery.
The 28-year-old safety has spent the past two years with the Jets after he played for the San Diego Chargers from 2011 to 2014. He is currently in the second year of a four-year, $22 million deal.
