Eagles WRs Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper unlikely to hit free agencyReports out of Philadelphia Thursday were that neither Eagles receiver will hit free agency. Riley Cooper and Jeremy Maclin will be staying in Philly as Cooper is set to get a four year deal worth $3-4 million per season while Jeremy Maclin will receive a "show-me" one year deal. Not a bad prospect for anyone who does so in a Chip Kelly system.
This then takes Rotoworld's second and tenth best receivers out of the pool and will make competition for other young talented receivers set to hit free agency all the more costly.
DeMarcus Ware and Cowboys not talkingIan Rapoport said that there has been "no communication" between the Cowboys and DeMarcus Ware. The Combine is a chance for agents and teams to talk, so that there was no communication should tell us that Ware won't likely be back in Dallas.
Could the Jets make a move for a veteran edge-rusher to plug into their system on the cheap? They did it a few years ago with Jason Taylor, would they do it again with the
oft-injured aging but talented Ware?
MJD set to hit free agency? It seems very unlikely that Maurice Jones-Drew will be back with the Jaguars. They won't want to use the cap space for an aging name without the ability to provide the amount of production that they would need for him to carry this rebuilding offense.
We get the sense that the Jets are going to be active in free agency and/or the draft to find a dynamic playmaking running back who can catch the ball out of the backfield this year. While MJD is not the same player he once was, he might be able to provide niche value to an offense in need of backfield help for a relative cheap price.
