Now Commenting On:

It could be, and as soon as tonight, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

After the initial run of interviews it appeared the Jets had lost out on several candidates perceived to be the "top tier" of prospective GM candidates, with growing fear that the Jets job may not be that attractive given the recent trouble the team has dealt with or even with a general manager's preference to choose their own coach over working with Rex Ryan. Luckily, it looks like the Jets may not have to settle for  a "retread" GM like Jerry Angelo or an underwhelming in-house appointment. It's hard to pinpoint how much Idzik has contributed to such things directly, but teams have had a way of finding success after he has joined their front office and he seems comfortable already handling a variety of important management duties for the Seahawks. This move may not be a hundred percent set in stone, but all signs point to this being the man the Jets want.
