Now Commenting On:

Mike Goodson pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on two weapons charges in New Jersey on Wednesday.

Goodson was indicted on second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a prohibited weapon, for the possession of a hollow-point bullet. He also faces charges of marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, but those are not indictable offenses (Horowtiz).

Garant Evans, the driver of the car Goodson was in, also plead not guilty.

Goodson was arrested in Denville, NJ on May 17.

The real concern is the weapon. The verdict and sentencing might be lessened as the case plays out, but it looks as if the prosecutor and court are unwilling to remove the charge around the weapon and hollow point as it relates to Goodson.

This is a man's life, but as far as the Jets roster are concerned it doesn't look good. At a minimum they are going to be seriously scouring free agency and the draft when it comes to a dynamic third down back and potential special teamer.

Mike Goodson’s lawyer Anthony Fusco talks about his client’s appearance in court on gun charges.
