The Jets placed CB Trumaine Johnson on Injured Reserve earlier this week, and the team has now added a new cornerback into the secondary mix.

The Jets have claimed CB Maurice Canady, who was waived by the Ravens on Tuesday. To make room on the roster, the team placed S Rontez Miles on IR.

Canady, a 25-year-old native of Richmond, Va., was originally a sixth round pick of the Ravens in 2016 out of Virginia. In 24 career games for Baltimore, Canady made two starts, recording 50 total tackles. He made his first career interception earlier this season against Baker Mayfield and the Browns.

Canady has dealt with a myriad of injuries during his young career, landing on Injured Reserve three separate times with hamstring, knee, and thigh injuries.

Johnson, who played in seven games this season, had 25 tackles, two passes defended and one interception before being placed on IR. With his high cap number moving forward, Johnson may have seen his last action on the field with Gang Green.
