Ever since the Jets fired GM Mike Maccagnan, there have been whispers that Adam Gase was unhappy with the signing of Le'Veon Bell.
On Thursday, Gase answered those questions head-on.
"We signed him. I'm excited we have him," Gase said when asked whether he and Maccagnan failed to see eye-to-eye on the signing. "I've been in constant communication with him."
While it's been speculated that Gase was unhappy with the signing, the exact nature of that unhappiness reportedly had to do with the amount of money the Jets gave Bell -- not a lack of desire on Gase's part for Bell to be on the team.
And Gase seemed to confirm the above on Thursday.
"Whether we disagreed on anything financially, that's a completely different story and the person or the player -- and that's where a lot of this gets misconstrued," Gase said. "Le'Veon Bell is a great player, he's a good person. He's been in constant contact with me. I enjoyed my interaction with him when he was here, when he came on his personal visit, for his physical, when we signed him. ... He texts me all the time. All that stuff you get on Instagram, we get it first."

"The contract was what it was," Gase added, explaining that everyone around the team is excited to have Bell. "Anybody can critcize contracts all that they want. He's here."
So those trade rumors revolving around Bell. What about those, coach?
"That's ridiculous," Gase said. "That's the first time I heard of that."
