Brian Poole was undoubtedly the Jets' best free agent signee last season. So they made sure to bring him back again.
SNY's Ralph Vacchiano confirmed that Poole will be returning to the Jets on a one-year deal worth $5 million.
At this time a year ago, Poole signed a $3 million deal over one year with the Jets. And after being the most consistent cornerback of any player on the team, they're rewarding him this time with a $2 million tack on to his new deal.
Playing in 14 games last season with 10 starts, Poole had five passes defended with one interception and 59 combined tackles too.
It makes perfect sense for New York to bring back the 27-year-old, who served as their slot corner. Because he primarily plays there, the Jets could still be looking in the cornerback market, with Chris Harris reportedly on their radar.
