Jets center Ryan Kalil was fined $10,527 by the NFL on Saturday for unnecessary roughness last week against the Patriots.
During the second quarter of the Jets' 30-14 loss, Kalil was charged with a face mask penalty, negating a modest gain by Le'Veon Bell.
Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon was also fined the same amount for a face mask penalty of his own that occurred in the third quarter.
Kalil is not the first Jet to be fined this season. Safety Jamal Adams was fined in Week 2 for a late hit against Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield. Adams was not too happy about the fine, calling the NFL "a damn joke," while using some more colorful language to describe his thoughts even further.
The Jets have their early bye this week. Next Sunday, they'll travel to Philadelphia to take on the 2-2 Eagles, with Gang Green still looking to pick up their first win of the season.
