The Jets claimed former Raiders TE Clive Walford off waivers, the team announced Monday afternoon.
With Austin Seferian-Jenkins signed with the Jaguars for next season, the Jets bring in Walford as depth to the tight end position. The former Raiders third-rounder has been a depth player for Oakland the past three seasons.
In 2017, he saw just nine receptions for 80 yards. However, he hauled in 28 and 33 receptions in 2015 and 2016 respectively, and started in 10 games over those seasons as well.
The 26-year-old was released by the Raiders last Tuesday, as they have a crowded tight end room on the West Coast, saving $1.9 million in the process.
