After Mike Maccagnan spent his first two offseasons as general manager of the Jets by trimming the roster of big money veterans such Darrelle Revis and Brandon Marshall, he'll be able to reap the benefits this offseason as the Jets could free up a huge amount of free agent money.
If the Jets simply don't do a thing to their current roster, they'll have just under $80 million. But Connor Hughes of NJ.com was able to look at the roster and find rational ways the team could climb that number over $100 million.
Some of the moves Hughes suggests includes releasing Matt Forte, Buster Skrine, Ben Ijalana and Mohammad Wilkerson.
With or without releasing those players, the Jets will have potential aplenty with free agents this offseason.
