After his introductory press conference, Jets new head coach Adam Gase has been the subject of numerous memes that have gained some popularity on social media.
So has Gase seen them? Not in the slightest.
"I don't have Twitter or Instagram. I don't read the Internet. I don't watch TV," Gase said on ESPN's "The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz." "All that stuff is irrelevant to me. It's poluttion of the brain. I really don't care. That's not how I operate. I'm here to do one thing and that's to help this organization win."
Football is truly the only thing Gase is thinking about daily, as he knows he has a lot of work to do. He already took one big step in bringing on new defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, but he still needs to fill out the rest of his staff.
After that step is complete, the next one is to prepare for what Jets fans hope will be a very productive offseason. The Jets have loads of cap space to work with (about $100 million), and with players like Le'Veon Bell and Dee Ford on the market, new faces are likely to find their way to Florham Park.
So, as the memes continue to circulate the web, Gase wouldn't be paying them any mind. He has a season to prepare for.
