The Jets made a change in the team's secondary on Tuesday afternoon, signing DB Blake Countess.

Gang Green waived DB Arthur Maulet to make room on the 53-man roster.

Countess is originally a sixth-round pick of the Eagles in 2016, though he never played a game with the team. After playing collegiate ball at both Michigan and Auburn, Countess did not make the Eagles' 53-man roster following his first NFL preseason.

He ended up with the Rams, where he became a depth piece in their secondary, with the ability to play both safety and corner. He started four games with the Rams over the course of three seasons, tallying two interceptions. With Los Angeles, Countess also displayed his ability on special teams, returning 17 kicks for 419 yards last season. Additionally, he's returned two blocked punts for touchdowns over his career.

The 26-year-old returned to the Eagles this past offseason, but was once again cut coming out of training camp.

Maulet originally signed with the Jets on a reserve/futures contract this past offseason. He appeared in five games for the Jets, and scored a touchdown against the Patriots on a muffed punt.

The Jets also added OL Corbin Kaufusi, the brother of Bronson Kaufusi, to the team's practice squad.
