Smith's contract will be worth $5 million over four years, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN New York.
Smith, who was drafted in the second round, was one of three unsigned picks. First-round picks Dee Milliner & Sheldon Richardson remain unsigned.
Gotta love the new rookie wage scale. Whatever happens with Geno Smith and the Jets, they will have him locked up for the time being at a very economical price. Should something better come along for the organization, there's no weighty investment to keep them from doing whatever is in the best interests of the team as opposed to in the best interests of the cap.
