Josh McCown threw the Jets' first touchdown of the preseason and the team's defense tallied eight sacks in a 7-3 win over the Titans on Saturday at MetLife Stadium.
The Jets kept the Titans out of the endzone for the duration of the game, allowing only a field goal on a five-play, 49-yard drive in the third quarter. Jordan Jenkins, Devon Still, Julian Stanford, Josh Martin, Bruce Carter, Patrick Gamble, Leonard Williams, and Anthony Johnson combined to record eight sacks to slow the Titans on offense. Ronald Martin picked off Titans QB Alex Tanney to cap off the Jets' strong defensive showing.
McCown's touchdown pass came on four-yard pass to Cahrone Peake, who capped an eight-play, 78-yard drive which included a 53-yard pass to Robby Anderson. McCown took advantage of his opportunities, completing three of his four passes for 72 yards.
Christian Hackenberg completed 18 of 25 passes for 127 yards. Anderson caught three passes for 71 yards and Chris Harper hauled in two grabs for 21 yards. Marquess Wilson caught three passes for 20 yards.
Bryce Petty completed two of his six passes for 16 yards.
