Dixon, who is 5-foot-11 and 203 pounds, was a first-team Division II All-American selection and first-team All-MAIAA pick. Dixon transferred to Northwest Missouri State after spending two years at Joliet Junior College.
Dixon was a top performer at the NFL Combine during the 40-yard dash where he came away with a time of 4.41 seconds.
Scouts say that he has more than ideal size and has solid body control. They add, though, that he does not have elite explosion and sometimes reacts slowly.
Dixon is a project, but has the makings of a press-man cornerback. He's athletic, has the right size and has shown flashes, but playing D-II will make transitioning to the NFL harder. If working with the Jets staff can round Dixon out he might have value for the team as a depth corner in year one and could compete for larger roles on the defense in years to come.
