The first big splash the Jets make in free agency could be linebacker Anthony Barr.
With Trey Flowers headed to the Detroit Lions, per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Jets are stepping up their pursuit of Barr, according to SNY's Ralph Vacchiano.
Barr, who turns 27 next week, has been linked to the Jets previously and would give them a versatile Pro Bowl outside linebacker to their defense.
The Jets are in the market for a pass rush to play the edge but also are hoping to move on from Darron Lee, making Barr an attractive option.
The five-year veteran has made the Pro Bowl four times with the Minnesota Vikings and has the ability to drop back in coverage and rush the passer.
He had 23 pressures on 94 pass-rush attempts last season, per Pro Football Focus, which included three sacks.
The Jets are also among teams interested in Ravens linebacker C.J. Mosley, who could command upwards of $13 million per year.
