Now Commenting On:

While 2012 was a tough season for many Jets players, LaRon Landry had a great year, gaining a Pro Bowl nomination.  But on just a one-year deal and with the Jets now going to have to made some hard choices about the salary cap, his future with the team seems uncertain as a unrestricted free agent.

While it might not mean much, Rich Cimini noted on ESPN that Landry was disciplined for being late to the flight to Buffalo the day before the Jets Week 17 game.

Landry didn't start the season finale in Buffalo because of disciplinary reasons, according to a source. He missed the team bus to the airport the day before the game and was docked playing time. Somehow, he made the flight.

Eric Smith started at safety, as Landry ended up playing only 35 of 58 defensive snaps, easily his lowest playing-time percentage of the season. He sat out for only 25 snaps in the first 15 games combined.

It's an interesting footnote and I appreciate it being reported, but I'm not really all that worried about the matter.  It sounds as if even though this happened Landry would like to return to New York.  More than anything I'd like to know if this was just an isolated incident among all players on the team across 16 games or was it that it just so happened to be on the last week of the season and the coach was trying to make a point?
