Now Commenting On:

Over at PFF, Neil Hornsby has been taking a look at every team's starters to see how the talent is distributed in terms of elite and below average players. It's always an interesting read and of course gives us plenty of material to discuss in terms of whether we agree with any of the individual player assessments and how the team's breakdown looks overall compared to any other teams.

They also looked at the Giants today and it's interesting to note that if the two Jets rookies can be above average, then the make-up of their offensive and defensive starting lineups is pretty much the same as for the Giants.

Neil doesn't fall into the trap of just assuming the Jets are low on talent across the board, pointing out that they have "a very lop-sided roster, with some absolutely fabulous blue-chippers mixed in with a lot of sub-optimal players".

Their chart breaking down the units is below, but I would urge you to click the link and read some of the comments justifying their appraisal and also to go and explore some of the other teams they've covered so far for context.
