A few weeks ago, there was plenty of discussion about which of their free agents the Jets should prioritize next season. At that time, it was widely agreed that the likes of Kony Ealy, Morris Claiborne and Austin Seferian-Jenkins would all be high priorities.
However, Ealy and Seferian-Jenkins have really seen their level of production stagnate after a fast start and Claiborne had his worst game of the season on Sunday. If the Jets are planning to bring these players back, the price tag has probably dropped significantly in each case and it's probably just as well they weren't tempted to sign them to an extension during the season.
Seferian-Jenkins has totaled just 35 receiving yards in three games since the bye. However, his struggles have been going on for longer than that. He's had less than 30 yards in six of the last seven games and hasn't scored since October 22nd. Ealy impressed early on with eight passes defensed, but has just one in the last six games and his full-season stats (14 tackles, one sack) are completely underwhelming for someone who has played over 400 snaps.
Until he suffered his season ending injury - at the end of perhaps his worst game of the season - McCown was another pending free agent who seemed likely to return. Maybe the injury will change that. Demario Davis is still playing at a level where they should be looking to bring him back, but otherwise there's arguably not really anyone else you'd look upon as a "must-keep" from that group.
