With the Jets and Bills having talks about swapping the No. 3 and No. 9 picks, SNY's Ralph Vacchiano reports that "there's no doubt the Jets want the Bills' second-round pick (40th) and more. Presumably the Bills would give up one of their fourth-round picks." Vacchiano adds that he believes a future first-round pick has to be in play too, based on previous deals at the top of the first round.
While the Jets and Bills are having talks, Vacchiano says to also keep an eye on the Raiders (No. 4) and Redskins (No. 15), and Bengals (No. 11).
April 25, 5:52 PM:
According to The Athletic's Connor Hughes, the Jets and Raiders have discussed a trade that would swap their No. 3 and No. 4 picks. There was the earlier rumor that the Jets were talking about potentially taking Houston DT Ed Oliver, and many believed it was to stir the Raiders -- who reportedly love him -- to make a trade. Well, it looks like that's being discussed between both sides.
April 25, 5:11 PM:
With buzz growing that the Jets could trade down, Rich Cimini of ESPN reports that one team is already under the impression that Gang Green has a deal worked out with another team if Quinnen Williams is available at No. 3 -- saying to keep an eye on the Bills, who pick No. 9.
SNY's Ralph Vacchiano suggests that if the Jets trade from No. 3 to No. 9, the compensation would have to be close to what the Eagles gave up in 2016 to move from No. 8 to No. 2 -- A third and fourth-round pick, plus a future first and second round pick. But Vacchiano notes that the Jets are going to want the Bills' second-rounder this year (40th overall).
Vacchiano also cites a source who says the Jets are still "determined" to trade down.
April 25, 2:57 PM:
Three GMs believe the Jets will trade down from No.3 as long as Nick Bosa is not available there, reports Manish Mehta of the NY Daily News. Mehta adds that if the Jets trade down, it will not be with the Redskins.
April 24, 11:23 AM:
According to Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman, there are NFL teams "convinced" the 49ers will end up selecting DT Quinnen Williams with the No. 2 pick, and that the Jets will follow by taking Nick Bosa at No. 3. Freeman also reports there's chatter about teams considering trading up to try to get Williams.
April 22, 2:46 PM:
An NFL executive told SNY's Ralph Vacchiano why he or she really thinks we're hearing about the Jets and Houston DT Ed Oliver right now.
"Interesting that this Oliver stuff (with the Jets) comes out right after we all hear that the Raiders might be in love with Oliver," the executive said. "Sounds to me like the Jets are trying to smoke Gruden and Mayock into trading up a spot."
April 22, 11:24 AM:
Houston DT Ed Oliver is suddenly a very hot pick for the Jets. An NFC scout told SNY's Ralph Vacchiano, "Can't see them passing on an edge-rusher, but we're all hearing Gregg Williams loves him (Oliver). Doesn't seem to be a great fit (for their defense), but we don't really know what that D is yet."
April 22, 9:42 AM:
Josh Allen landing with the Jets? Maybe not so much. A source told NBC Sports' Peter King that Gang Green doesn't love the Kentucky edge-rusher.
