Scouting Report: One of the best athletes in the game. Jenkins took reps as a receiver because the team could only dress three receivers due to Marquise Goodwin's injury. While Jenkins would like to play quarterback, he played better as a receiver in the game than as a QB where he looked less natural. Speedy and athletic, in his few practices with the American team, he impressed scouts with his innate route running out of the slot and in the game as a wideout and his strong hands to haul in passes even while being hit. Jenkins had an acrobatic one-handed catch in practice that scouts were talking about days later.
Notes: As it took a guy like Brad Smith time to convert, the same might be true for Jenkins if an NFL team wants to use him as a receiver or returner. Jenkins's speed, athleticism and natural abilities will be a gift to a team who can be patient with him and bring him along in some sort of modified receiver or pistol role. Jenkins can be a dual threat, but his accuracy and touch as a passer were not on best display during practices during the week leading up to the game according to scouts.
