Scouting Report: Orhian Johnson has great size and athleticism and has experience in all spots in the secondary as well as some time at outside linebacker as well. Johnson is rangy with natural ball skills and able to play the pass well and can be a willing tackler against the run. To be a stout defender in the NFL, Johnson needs to add on some muscle, be more consistent with his technique, learn to take better angles to the play and increase his awareness when in coverage and working to anticipate where the QB will go with the ball.
Notes: Johnson was one of the most vocal defenders in practice and helped set up his fellow defensive backs. Johnson is an impact player and played well in his time on the field Saturday and had a tackle for loss as well as a pass defensed. He showed some good job of diagnosing routes and kept the play ahead of him. At his size and speed, teams will want to take a look at the raw tools he has and see if they can coach him into a solid contributor in the NFL.
