According to Bowles, Owusu sustained the concussion during Friday's practice. Owusu did not play on Saturday and is still going through the concussion protocol.
Bowles also noted after the practice that WR T.J. Graham and and TE Steve Maneri are banged up with hamstring issues, while WR Walter Powell left practice with a groin or hamstring injury.
Bent, theJetsBlog.com: This is awful news for Owusu, who has a history of concussions, including one scary one in college that saw him get removed from the field via ambulance. After a great game in Miami at the end of last season, Owusu had been one of the stars of camp over the past week.
Hopefully, Owusu can make a swift recovery from this. It's at least good to know the Jets are taking precautions to minimize any aftereffects. The Jets are also being cautious with Muhammad Wilkerson, who Bowles says might not play in Thursday night's first preseason game. Let's hope the injuries suffered at today's practice aren't as serious.
