The Jets' defense limited Cam Newton and the Panthers' offense in the first half, but Carolina gained momentum late in the game. In the fourth quarter, Panthers DE Wes Horton pressured McCown, who fumbled, and Luke Kuelchy picked it up and ran it back for a touchdown. Kaelin Clay then returned a punt return for a touchdown to give the Panthers a 32-20 lead.
McCown and the Jets' offense responded by marching down the field on a touchdown drive culminating with a scoring pass to Jermaine Kearse.
Anderson, who led the Jets with six catches for 146 yards and a pair of scores, found the endzone for the fifth time in as many games. Kerase had 105 yards through the air, including a 42-yard catch.
Matt Forte returned for the Jets and had 10 carries, but mustered only 26 yards.
The Jets will host the Chiefs on Sunday at 1 p.m.
