Early in the first quarter, McCown capped off a 13-play drive with a one-yard touchdown pass to Austin Seferian-Jenkins, giving the Jets a 7-0 lead. McCown then connected with Jeremy Kerly on a 31-yard touchdown in the second quarter to put the Jets up 14-0.
But Tom Brady rebounded from an early interception to lead the Patriots' offense, buoyed by a strong running game, to score 21 unanswered points. Dion Lewis had 52 yards, while Mike Gillislee picked up 44 yards on nine carries. Rob Gronkowski had two touchdown receptions and tied Brandin Cooks with a team-high six grabs.
McCown finished with 354 yards passing and had two touchdowns, but threw two interceptions and nearly threw another during the final drive.
Jevon Kearse had four catches for 79 yards, while Matt Forte hauled in eight catches for 59 yards in his return from injury.
