With the Combine around the corner, Syracuse quarterback Ryan Nassib is working out with the likes of Paul Hackett and Ken Anderson in preparation to showcase his talent. Tony Pauline is reporting that the New York Jets are one of three teams who have a high grade on Nassib presently.
We hear three teams who select at the top of round two, including the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets, think highly of Nassib. Its not out of the question one of these teams moves back into the late part of round one to select the Syracuse product.I briefly discussed Nassib in December commenting that he "has a solid arm and is mobile in the pocket. He is accurate if he is forced to throw on the run and can utilize his eyes to fool defenders. However, he has a tendency to make poor decisions under pressure and force the ball to his receivers."
There were varying opinions on his showing at the Senior Bowl where he had a solid performance but was more an after thought after watching Mike Glennon. Nassib's performance at the Combine will carry a lot of weight but I still remained concerned about his decision making under pressure especially since we've seen Sanchez all but roll into the fetal position on multiple occasions under similar circumstances.
Of course this may all just be a clever smokescreen on New York's part since a certain team to the North has shown interest in Nassib in recent weeks. That certain team also happens to pick right before the Jets and would reunite Nassib with his former coach at Syracuse.
