Bilal Powell accrued a game-high 145 yards rushing and the Jets' defense kept the Chargers at bay, but Bryce Petty struggled with accuracy and the Jets sputtered en route to a 14-7 loss at MetLife Stadium on Sunday. >> Box Score
Philip Rivers connected with Antonio Gates in the second quarter for the game's first touchdown to put the Chargers on top before Bilal Powell's 57-yard rushing touchdown tied the game at 7-7 in the second quarter.
The Chargers would later compile an eight-play, 75-yard touchdown drive to move back in front, 14-7 -- a lead they would cling to for the rest of the game.
With an opportunity to tie the game late in the fourth quarter, the Jets were unable to move the ball and ultimately turned it over on downs.
Petty finished with just 15 completions for 128 yards and an interception. Robby Anderson hauled in five catches for 51 yards, but a big catch in the first half was overturned when he was flagged for pass interference.
