Jets RB Bilal Powell posted 122 rushing yards on 22 carries, adding three receptions for 15 yards and a touchdown, in New York's 30-10 win over the Bills in the final game of the season Sunday.
Powell was listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bills due to a knee injury and an illness, but battled throughout the game and finished with six carries of 10-plus yards.
"He's tough. He fought," Todd Bowles said about Powell. "He came in and played. You saw the way he played today. He was hobbled a little bit, but he wanted to finish it the right way. He made some runs today that kept us in the game and helped us win."
Powell averaged 5.0 yards per carry or more in three of the Jets' last four games as he took over as the lead back with Matt Forte banged up.
The former fourth round pick out of Louisville ended the year with 722 rushing yards on 131 carries, averaging 5.5 yards per carry, and three touchdowns. Powell also added 58 receptions for 388 yards and two touchdowns.
"He's a beast. There's not much else to say," said Quincy Enunwa of Powell. "Every day, he comes in with his hard hat. He's working hard, he's making plays. That's my guy right there."

Powell had another terrific performance, with 122 rushing yards and three catches including a short touchdown. The Jets really seemed to screw up their running back situation by overusing Forte early in the year and then only giving Powell a bigger workload once Forte was injured so there was nobody established to platoon him with. They make it so difficult sometimes.
It could have been a much bigger game for Powell, though. He gained 25 yards on the first play of the second half, giving him 98 on 12 carries at that time, along with three catches for 15 yards and a score. However, he carried just 10 times for 24 yards over the remainder of the second half. In the end, he was only 92 yards away from being the Jets' leading rusher, but he ends up with a team-high 1,110 yards from scrimmage. << Read more about the performance of Powell and the rest of the Jets in the full BGA here.
