What about any interest the Jets might have, now that they've traded Darrelle Revis? Jenny Vrentas writes for the Star-Ledger that Milliner has gotten nothing but a good vibe from the Jets.
"I talked to them when I visited up there. They like me," Milliner said today at the NFL's Play 60 Youth Football Festival with several of the NFL Draft's top prospects. "They probably like me more now since they got rid of Revis."To me, Milliner is one of the most intriguing players in the top half of the first round. He was talked about going as high as No. 2 for a while, then he's been tightly linked with teams like Raiders and the Browns. Now he seems to be landing only has high as the Browns and never that far into the teens.
Milliner is the best cornerback in the class, but he might not have the ideal skillset for Rex Ryan's defense. He can play man, but needs to refine his technique in off-man coverage. While not the same size, a player like Desmond Trufant might be the best fit schematically for the Jets ... a player they could theoretically reach for at 13, or more likely try to trade back to slot better. There's nothing wrong with Milliner, he's a talented player and the Jets are right to like him, I just wonder what the Jets might do if he falls into their lap ... would another team be interested?
