At 33, Palmer wants to be on a team on the upswing of contending for a championship as his star begins to fade and avoid an angry fanbase in Oakland. They weren't too pleased with the trade but, of course, the player rather than the manager is taking most of the heat.
First glance tells us the Jets are a team Palmer would want to avoid however, they still have a solid foundation to build on and depending on their draft in April it could further strengthen their core. The main selling point to Palmer in my mind would be the quarterback competition and the possibility of him starting (and maybe even winning) in a large market. Of course all of this is contingent on mutual interest. Currently neither side has shown interest and the Cardinals are reportedly a serious suitor should the Raiders release Palmer in the coming days.
That being said, Palmer could be an available option soon for a Jets team searching for an offensive leader so I'll leave it up to the readers. Is Carson an option the Jets should consider pursuing?
