Sam Darnold still is not cleared to practice.

The Jets returned from their bye week on Monday but their rookie quarterback remained sidelined with a strained right foot.

Darnold did not play in the Jets' Week 10 loss to the Bills but was seen after the game without his walking boot.

He did not have the walking boot on Monday, either, but told reporters he is progressing and has jogged.

Head coach Todd Bowles offered very little about Darnold's status, saying he was "day to day, week to week."

Darnold sustained the injury in a Week 9 loss to the Dolphins and was replaced by 39-year-old veteran Josh McCown.

McCown did not fare well against the Bills, throwing for 135 yards and two interceptions in a 41-10 loss and would have to face the Patriots this Sunday if Darnold cannot go.

WR Robby Anderson also did not practice.
