USC QB Sam Darnold didn't get to meet with Eli Manning during his visit with the Giants, but got to see plenty of Jets during his visit with them.
"I saw him from a distance and he was working, so I didn't want to bother him," Darnold said about Manning. "We had a chance to meet at the Manning Camp, which was awesome."
Regarding the Jets, Darnold said he got to see a bunch of players he was familiar with.
"I got to see Leonard Williams. It was really great seeing him again. And then Claude Pelon was there -- USC guy. I met with Josh McCown for a little bit, met some of the other quarterbacks. Saw Hack (Christian Hackenberg). It was good to see Christian again."
"The Giants and the Jets were the only teams that I got to see the players on my visits," Darnold said. "That's really cool. I think that's the coolest thing for me on the visits was getting to se the players -- how they interact. And leave knowing that I'm gonna fit right in."
Darnold is high on the Giants and Jets' draft boards, according to SNY's Ralph Vacchiano, and one of them could pounce if the Browns pass on Darnold at No. 1.
