With the Jets officially announcing Adam Gase as their new head coach, one of the team's captains went to social media to show his excitement.

Pro-Bowl S Jamal Adams posted to his Twitter and Instagram to welcome Gase, as he looks forward to getting to work.

Despite Adams showing enthusiasm for the Gase hire, it wasn't his ideal candidate. If he had to choose, Adams wanted former Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury, who was hired by the Cardinals for their head coach slot. He even went on WFAN's "Carlin, Maggie and Bart" show to talk about it.

"He's an offensive-minded coach," Adams said on the show. "He's going to bring swagger. He's going to develop Sam [Darnold] into a great quarterback. Look at his track record."

Adams may not have gotten the quarterback whisperer in Kingsbury, but Gase has been known to get the best out of his quarterbacks. He has seen success with signal callers like Peyton Manning, Ryan Tannehill, Matt Moore, and Brock Osweiler over his career. With Darnold, the Jets believe Gase has the perfect, young quarterback to develop into a star.

Obviously Adams will be hoping for the same, and he is ready to see what else Gase will bring to the table next season. But, first, Adams will play in his first Pro Bowl of his young career after being named a starter out of the AFC.

The 23-year-old produced 115 combined tackles, one interception, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and 12 passes defended in his sophomore season.
