The Jets are expected to hire Adam Gase's former Dolphins offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains, who's been cleared to speak with other teams and allowed to exit the organization, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Loggains, 38, coached the 2018 season with Gase in Miami. He was the OC for the Tennessee Titans from 2012-13 and Chicago Bears from 2016-17. Loggains was the quarterback coach for the Cleveland Browns during Johnny Manziel's rookie year in 2014. Loggains played college football at the University of Arkansas.
Gase and Loggains first crossed paths in 2015, while the former served as the Bears OC. Loggains was Chicago's quarterback coach that season, and Jay Cutler had one of his best years under the coach. Loggains led Cutler to 3,629 passing yards, 21 touchdowns and a career-lowest 11 interceptions.
