DE Muhammad Wilkerson gutted through an ankle injury last Sunday in Cleveland and even played about 75% of the snaps. But now he's missed two straight days of practice and it's not looking good for him to play Sunday in Miami.
"We'll have to see how he's feeling and kind of take it as it comes," Todd Bowles said.
He did say Wilkerson is "not any worse," so that's good. Bowles also said Wilkerson won't have to practice this week to play Sunday. It's all about how he feels.
That's more optimistic than he seemed to be for LB Darron Lee and C Nick Mangold. "They haven't done anything yet," he said. "There's hope, but there's slim hope."
LT Ryan Clady (shoulder) hasn't done anything either, but that's about "pain tolerance" Bowles said, and the Jets seem to think he'll play on Sunday. As for TE Kellen Davis, Bowles said "If he doesn't do anything in the next two days, it'll be unlikely."
Meanwhile, QB Geno Smith, who is on injured reserve with a knee injury, will have surgery to repair his torn ACL next week, Bowles said.
