He may have hit a rough patch at the moment, but rookie QB Sam Darnold continues to progress in Hall of Fame QB Joe Namath's eyes.
While receiving the Sports Legend Award at the 35th Annual March of Dimes Sports Luncheon on Tuesday, SNY's Justine Ward asked Namath about what he has seen from Darnold in recent games where he has struggled.
"I did see him progressing," Namath said. "He came out of the box fast, then being a youngster some things caught up with him. But he's terrific, shows wonderful signs of leadership and ability and I think he's going to be around for a good while. I hope he's on our side for a good while."
Namath was also careful touching on what he thinks the Jets should do down and the road, and what the March of Dimes has meant to him since his childhood...
