With the world knowing that Jamal Adams wants the Jets to trade him, running into fans will normally bring the topic up. And that's exactly what happened in Texas on Sunday.

A fan video posted to Twitter shows someone who looks and sounds like Adams, as he was driving through a shopping center. The fan asks him if he's coming to Dallas to play for the Cowboys. Adams' answer?

"I'm trying, bro," he said.

Not only does this once again prove that Adams wants out of New York, but the fact that it was the Cowboys -- his hometown team and one on his preferred list he reportedly gave the Jets -- shouldn't come as a surprise.

If Jets fans will remember back near the trade deadline, the Cowboys were reportedly very close to striking a deal for Adams before GM Joe Douglas squashed it (a first-round pick was reportedly involved in the package). But the mere fact that Douglas was listening to calls on Adams got the Pro Bowl safety heated, enough so that he needed time to cool off before speaking with CEO Christopher Johnson and Douglas about the situation.

Because Adams wasn't on the market, Dallas did add Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to its roster to fill the safety position next to Xavier Woods. But if the Cowboys can strike a deal this time with New York, they'd obviously rearrange the depth chart being that he would be their best option on defense, let alone at safety.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Adams not only wants to be the highest-paid safety in the league, but one of the highest-paid defensive players in the game. Khalil Mack owns that title at $23.5 million per season with the Chicago Bears, and arguably the best defensive player in the league in Aaron Donald has a $22.5 million per-season pact with the Los Angeles Rams. Whatever team wants to trade for Adams will need to keep that mind if that is the asking price.

For Dallas, that means contemplating its own situation with Dak Prescott, who just accepted his franchise tender at over $31 million this season. He's looking for a long-term deal himself.

Other than the Cowboys, the Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles, Houston Texans, Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were on his list. All Super Bowl contenders.
