Le'Veon Bell has his first Jets touchdown.
The offense was slow to start their Week 1 matchup against the Bills, but it began picking up in the second half. With a red zone opportunity, Sam Darnold found Bell on third and goal through the air, where he made a great grab and waltzed into the end zone to tally the offense's first touchdown of the season.
But that wasn't all. The Jets went for two and after Darnold scrambled out of pressure, he found Bell again in the end zone.
Bell told head coach Adam Gase, "Don't hold back," when it comes to his workload today. And Gase listened.
The veteran back has been fed the ball today after not seeing any action all preseason. As we write this, Bell has 14 rush attempts for 59 yards and 32 yards through the air with his touchdown. That's some pretty solid touchdes in your first game back in over a year.
Those numbers will likely get better with the entire fourth quarter still to play, but Bell is certainly making his presence known in his first game back in the league.
