Quarterback Sam Darnold broke a streak of eight straight drafts in which the Jets picked a quarterback in the first round.

Perhaps New York goes back to its roots in the 2019 draft.

With the No. 3 pick, the Jets can surely trade down since they don't have a second-round pick. But this could also be a draft where they find a franchise-changing pass rusher.

There is coveted defensive end Nick Bosa, who played only three games for Ohio State as a junior but recorded 8.5 sacks as a sophomore. There's Kentucky outside linebacker Josh Allen, who led the SEC with 17 sacks in 2018. And Clelin Ferrell, who won a national championship with Clemson, could be another target after recording 11.5 sacks in 2018.

Of course, there's four months until the Jets will officially be on the clock. And the speculation will continue.
