Rex Ryan is not pulling any punches when it comes to his former team.

A day after the Jets' 41-10 loss at home to the Matt Barkley-led Bills, the former Gang Green head coach appeared on ESPN's 'Get Up' and called it "one of the most humiliating defeats' in team history.

And that is coming from the man who coached the Buttfumble game.

"Might be the worst," Ryan added. "When you look at it, I'm still a fan of the Jets. Why? Because of the fan base and how I was treated here and all that, I loved the ownership group and they deserve a helluva lot better than this."

Ryan called out the lack of effort and placed that blame on head coach Todd Bowles -- who already entered the game on the hot seat having lost three in a row.

"This is the most embarrassed -- I mean, as a coach, as a leader of an organization you represent your fan base and everybody that works and all that and that's passion," he said. "That's toughness. That's work ethic. That's all these type of things. You don't just go out there and lay your jock out there on the field like they did here."

The calls for Bowles' job intensified following the game, but Ryan said it should not just stop at the head coach and that GM Mike Maccagnan also belongs in that conversation.

"Oh, 'Todd Bowles is gonna get fired.' You're damn right he's gonna get fired. So is everybody else," Ryan said. "I love the fact the GM is sitting back talking about the future. That's all he talks about -- the future. What future do you have? Do you honestly think you have?

"I look at it this way: The Johnson's are unbelievable people and they're gonna give you the benefit of the doubt. Todd Bowles is not gonna get fired. Now he's gonna coach the rest of the season. Why? That's the appropriate way to do things. We all know he's gone. Todd knows he's gone but so is the GM. They've already given you a chance. You had all the money and all that type of stuff. Didn't we have that four years ago?"

Ryan said the one saving grace about the Jets is rookie quarterback Sam Darnold, but added that they appear to be screwing that up, too.

"He's supposed to get better and ascend, right?" asked Ryan. "Who the hell is coaching him? I never saw it. He's not ascending."
